摘要
The outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 virus infection causing COVID-19 disease is increasing the mortality rate everyday worldwide. The disease has high infectivity rate and transmission is rapid. Late diagnosis and development of acute symptoms especially respiratory distress is mostly the cause of death. Mass screening of the population is vital to identify the infected cases, isolate them and achieve containment of the disease. Rapid testing of people is the key to identify asymptomatic carriers and prevent transmission of the disease. Hence, we review the various technologies available now involved in the rapid testing for COVID-19. © (2020) Society for Biomaterials & Artificial Organs.
