摘要
This paper details the production of biodiesel from Juliflora seeds using two-stage acid transesterification followed by alkali transesterification. The use of Juliflora biodiesel and its diesel blends was studied in single-cylinder diesel engines. Diesel fuel was used to compare the experimental findings from blended fuels-B20, B30, B40 and B100 and diesel-D100. Blends B20 and B30 exhibited BSFCs that were lower at higher loads (0.25 kg/KWh) than blend B20 (0.28 kg/KWh). During the trial, biodiesel and its mixes produced lower CO, HC and smoke emissions than diesel. It was discovered that biodiesel B100 had slightly more NOx than diesel fuel at full load (1845 ppm) and (1836 ppm) respectively. Based on this, B20 appears to be the better combination of alternative fuels and might replace diesel, resulting in a 20% decrease in diesel use. © 2024. Carbon Magics Ltd.
