In an increasingly dynamic environment, manufacturing companies are under constant innovation pressure. Within this study, companies were interviewed on their approach on ambidexterity management in manufacturing and the associated innovation management. The study provides an overview of the dissemination of ambidexterity management in industry, the methods used, challenges and deficits, and highlights opportunities for industry and research. © 2022 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.
