摘要
This paper proposes a fault location method for distribution lines, which proceeds in two steps: Firstly, a fault zone criterion based on the arrival time series of voltage traveling waves is used to achieve the fault zone discrimination; Then, the double ended traveling wave ranging method is applied to the determined interval to achieve the precise fault location. The core of our method is a distributed voltage sensor, which uses the Pockels principle to achieve the primary and secondary transmission of the line voltage, and then achieves the real-time transmission of line voltage information through the fiber optic channels, effectively accomplishing the centralized, synchronous, high-speed collection and processing of the remote node voltage. The proposed traveling wave method is also suitable for the accurate location of single-phase ground faults in the neutral non-effectively grounded systems. The simulation verifies the correctness of this method. The scheme is not affected by the neutral point operation modes and the system operation status with less than 100m of the fault location error, meeting the actual needs of the distribution network for fault location. © 2023 Power System Technology Press.
