摘要
We have performed high-level R-matrix scattering calculations to identify and characterise the resonances potentially involved in dissociative electron attachment (DEA) of H2 at around 14.5 eV. DEA experiments (Krishnakumar et al 2018 Nat. Phys. 4 149) indicate an asymmetric production of H- around this scattering energy that can only be explained if more than one resonance is involved in the process. The theoretical description of the anion distribution requires accurate data (energy and lifetime) for the resonances involved, currently missing from the literature. We attempt to provide these data for all the resonances identified in the appropriate energy range for bond lengths 1.1 a 0 to 4.0 a 0. Our resonance results are insufficient to confirm the validity of a simple model of anion yield asymmetry used to reproduce the experimental results.
