Self-scheduling Offering Strategy of Integrated Energy Production Unit Considering Uncertainty of Photovoltaic and Electricity Prices

Inspired by the low-carbon policies, the upgrading of the conventional coal-fired generation units is put on the agenda. The new concept of the integrated energy production unit (IEPU) has gradually attracted the attention in the academia and industry. Taking the IEPU as the research object, this paper explores its self-scheduling offering strategy in the electricity market. Firstly, this paper establishes the operation model of the IEPU, and adopts a robust optimization method to deal with the uncertainties of the PV output and the electricity prices in the IEPU. Then, the self-scheduling problem of the IEPU is modeled as a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) problem. On this basis, combined with the k-means clustering method, this paper proposes the IEPU self-scheduling offering curve generation considering the limitation on the numbers of the offering segments. Finally, through case studies, this paper studies the coupling relationship and the operating characteristics of the IEPU and generates the IEPU offering curves. It also analyzes the sensitivity of the IEPU self-scheduling scheme to the methane price, and studies the influence of the robust parameters on the self-scheduling scheme and the offering curves. © 2023 Power System Technology Press.
