摘要
Bit Error Rate (BER) in telecommunication is a marker of how data has to retransmit based on error bits occurrence. In optical communication, different coding and modulation schemes have been suggested to improve the BER. Free Space Optical (FSO) communication system has been developed using a 1550 nm optical beam for 3 km. The developed scheme has been tested with four different scenarios where Return to Zero (RZ) and Non-Return to Zero (NRZ) coding besides EAM and Mach-Zehnder modulation schemes have been selected. The selection of the best scenario depends on three factors, which are the power level, min BER, and max Q-Factor. The numerical simulation analysis showed that the NRZ coding and Mach-Zehnder modulation gives the optimized overall performance with the output power level of-33.104 dBm, 1.33816e-024 min BER, and 10.1646 max Q-Factor with the stable eye diagram. © 2020 Begell House Inc..
