摘要
The underground research laboratory(URL) has become an important platform for major international basic scientific research, which provides indispensable support for the development of physics, biology, geochemistry, medicine, rock mechanics and other disciplines. The in situ mechanical behavior and stability of deep underground research laboratory is a key basic problem to be answered in rock mechanics. At present, a large number of researches on rock mechanics have been carried out based on the existing and under construction underground research laboratories, which ensures the safe construction and operation of underground laboratories. In this paper, some of the current international underground research laboratories and some key problems related to rock mechanical behaviors during URL construction and operation were summarized. In addition, testing and monitoring methods of surrounding rock mechanical behavior were introduced. Excavation damage area, mechanical model and numerical simulation method were also analyzed. At the same time, the highlights and limitations of the current achievements of underground research laboratories were discussed. Finally, some ideas on the future researches of rock mechanics in deep underground research laboratories were put forward. © 2021, Central South University Press. All right reserved.
