Electrical conductivity behaviour of aqueous solutions of methylene blue at different temperatures using impedance spectroscopy

The complex dielectric permittivity, ε*(f) of aqueous solutions of methylene blue (MB) at various concentrations and temperatures was measured in lower frequency range (20 Hz − 2 MHz) using Agilent precision LCR meter. From ε*(f), complex impedance Z*(f), complex conductivitym*(f) and loss tangent (tan δ) were calculated. Loss tangent and conductivity spectra were used to calculate the electrode polarization relaxation time () and molecular conductivity (respectively. The study provides insight into the effect of variations in the concentration of MB in aqueous medium and temperature on its electrical characteristics. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
