This paper studied the effect of adding waste plastics on biomass pyrolysis to charcoal in the process of biomass hot pressing. Analytical instruments such as scanning electron microscope, specific surface area meter, and calorific value analyzer were used to analyze the effects of mixing ratio of waste plastics and pine wood chips, and pyrolysis temperature on properties such as hot press forming, pore structure and calorific value of pyrolysis carbon. The study concludes that the the relaxation density of biomass particles during the hot-press molding process is significantly inproved by the addition of waste plastics. The pyrolysis temperature determines the pore structure of the biomass carbon. Below 500℃,the porosity of the biomass charcoal is poor and micropore is small;Above 500℃,the specific surface area of biochar increases gradually with the increase of pyrolysis temperature, and the pore structure of the carbon surface is more abundant. When the pyrolysis temperature is 600℃,the proper addition of waste plastics helps to improve the calorific value of biomass carbon, which increases from 25.1217 MJ/kg of pure wood chips to 30.2419 MJ/kg,and does not affect the porosity pore structure of biomass char. © 2020, Solar Energy Periodical Office Co., Ltd.
