摘要
Sustainable microporous carbon materials were synthesized from Stecrculia foetida shell biomass, activated by H3PO4 at constant carbonization temperatures. The synthesized carbon materials were used to evaluation of CO2 adsorption performance in the temperature range from 25 to 50 degrees C. The results of the characterization showed that these carbons have microporosity and a large surface area. The adsorption capacity of SFPA13 was 2.62 mmol/g at 25 degrees C, after the activation with biomass-H3PO4 in the ratio of 1 : 3 ratio followed carbonization at 850 degrees C. Physical-chemical characteristics of the adsorbents explain their high adsorption capacity. The carbon materials exhibited easy desorption and recyclable up to five cycles with consistent CO2 adsorption. This work may offer a new idea for transforming biomass waste into cost-effective porous carbonaceous adsorbents that might be used for enhance the CO2 capture to succeed in the pursuit of a green economy.
