摘要
Organic single crystals have significantly impacted nonlinear optics, driving progress through their versatile applications and key discoveries. In this study, crystals of beta- polymorph of p-Amino Benzoic Acid were harvested using a mixture of millipore water and ethanol through slow evaporation solution growth technique. The titled organic crystal possesses carboxyl and amine groups that facilitate charge cloud movement, enhancing the potential for photonics application. Single Crystal X-ray Diffraction analysis uncovered that the harvested crystal exhibits beta-polymorphism and crystallization in monoclinic crystal system with P2(1)/n space group and XRD studies reveals that material possesses good crystallinity. After then the harvested crystal was examined by employing a variety of analysis methods, including Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Ultra Violet-Visible-Near Infrared and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy revealing structural and optical information, which are crucial for potential optoelectronic and other optical applications. Optical bandgap and emission wavelength of the titled material was found to be 2.80 eV and 415 nm, respectively. It shows violet fluorescence emission which indicates its usage for the development of violet lasers. Open and closed aperture Z-scan analysis of the grown single was performed to assess nonlinear optical properties, revealing reverse saturable absorption and/or two/multi-photon absorption and self-focusing characteristics in the grown crystal. nonlinear absorption coefficient (beta) and nonlinear refractive index (eta) were obtained to be 1.13 x 10(-9) cm/W and 2.40 x 10(-15) cm(2)/W, respectively. These investigations are valuable for understanding the crystals' behaviour for nonlinear optical applications.
