摘要:
The effect of addition of varying (10, 20 and 30) wt. % of Yttria Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) on tribological performance of plasma sprayed Al2O3-3 wt. % TiO2 (AT) coating was studied. This led to the alteration of the friction coefficient and abrasive wear resistance of the coatings which was rationalized on the basis of Contact Severity Indices maps. Mechanical Severity Index (MSI) and Thermal Severity Index (TSI) maps were used to assess safe and unsafe wear regimes of the coatings. A good correlation between these indices was observed and the correlation between friction energy and these indices could establish transition in different wear regimes.
