摘要
Device-to-Device (D2D) communication paves the way for satisfying the insatiable urge for higher data rate and bandwidth with ultra low latency while maintaining the quality of service in the mm-Wave 5G network. It acts as the basis for the operation of the future generation networks. Apart from the advantages, enabling D2D communication in the mm-Wave network encounters several obstacles which degrades the signal strength thereby reducing the data rate of the overall network. This paper portrays an extensive decade review of enabling D2D communication in the mm-Wave network taking into account the effect of several interference factors of the mm-Wave band including interference management, power allocation and mode selection. Furthermore, an overview of the taxonomy and standardization of D2D communication are also presented. Also, solutions regarding the inherent obstacles of enabling D2D communication in mm-Wave network are discussed. The article also compares the performance of the various methods of resource allocation for mitigating interference. Finally, potential research directions are discussed for future works.
