摘要
Monoclinic zirconia (m-ZrO2) with the remarkable advantages of high hardness, excellent chemical stability, and heat insulation is widely used in electronic products, catalytic, and refractory materials. Here, we have systematically investigated the synthesis of m-ZrO2 nanoparticles by the hydrothermal method; the results show that in a urea-ZrO2 ratio of 2:1, 0.3 wt% Polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) as an additive and a hydrothermal temperature of 180 degrees C for 12 h, the monodispersity m-ZrO2 is successfully obtained. Furthermore, when 3% by weight m-ZrO2 was added to 3Y-ZrO2, it showed a stronger flexural strength of 325.34 MPa, which was 114.3% higher than that of 3Y-ZrO2.
