摘要
Objective: To describe the initial experience of cardiac contractility modulation (CCM) implantation in Latin America. Method: We present the first two cases in Latin America of patients with heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) not candidates for cardiac resynchronization therapy in whom a CCM device was implanted. Results: In both patients we described improvement of the 6-minute walk test, functional class according to the NYHA and LVEF. Conclusions: The modulation of cardiac contractility is currently a treatment option for patients with heart failure in functional class III-IV, with LVEF 25-45%, and a QRS < 130 ms who are not candidates for cardiac resynchronization therapy.
