摘要
In high-speed trains, aerodynamic forces can have a significant impact on the performance of the brake plate. This paper propose an aerodynamic brake plate for a high-speed train and analyses the high-speed train's aerodynamic performance assessed by the Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations based on the k - omega turbulence model. The results show that the effect of the opening of the plate increases the turbulence of the downstream flow field behind the plate, which creates a recirculation zone. The affected area is mainly concentrated in the flow field around the location of the plate for the pressure field and the whole flow field behind the plate for the velocity field. The effect of pressure difference near the plate creates vortices. Additionally, the plate affects the velocity field by causing a significant decrease in velocity upstream, increase in the airflow separation from the plate, as well as a decrease downstream due to a recirculation zone and turbulence. Indeed, the plate also decreases turbulent kinetic energy near it. These findings highlight the importance of aerodynamic design elements, such as the braking plate in optimizing train performance and controlling velocity. Further research in this area can contribute to developing more efficient and streamlined high-speed train designs.
