摘要
VSC-HVDC transmission is more suitable for long-distance and large-capacity power transmission, effectively improving distributed generation accommodation capacity of power grid. DC circuit breaker, as a piece of core equipment for VSC-HVDC, can quickly cut off fault current and prevent fault expansion. DC circuit breakers are mainly divided into three types, i.e. mechanical, solid, and hybrid. Among them the hybrid DC circuit breaker has the advantages of strong carrying capacity, small loss, easy arc extinguishing and fast fault current cutting-off, and gradually becomes the main development direction of DC circuit breaker. In this paper, a typical hybrid DC circuit breaker is studied. In view of its disadvantages, such as large capacity of arrester, non-zero voltage switching of solid state switch group and long fault current cutting-off time, a double-bridge hybrid DC circuit breaker is proposed. The two kinds of circuit breakers are compared with simulation, proving that the proposed double-bridge hybrid DC circuit breaker is more economical with shorter fault current cutting-off time, and the solid-state switch group can realize zero voltage switching (ZVS). © 2019, Power System Technology Press.
