Spatial x-ray of sexual violence against the female population in the public space of the city of Monteria

Every day in cities there are numerous cases of crimes that threaten the integrity of people, both physically and emotionally, in the particular case of study, sexual crimes where the majority of the victims correspond to the female population, being subjected to different acts of violence. verbal, physical and/or visual sexual assault in environments where they carry out their daily activities, living negative experiences in the public space resulting in feelings of insecurity, rejection or fear in some places, affecting their enjoyment and enjoyment. For this reason, interest arose from the geographic scope to evaluate the perception that women have about the public spaces of Monteria in the face of sexual violence. In the development of the research, interviews and surveys were applied with the help of a georeferenced web geoform, as well as participatory workshops, subsequently the topophobic places derived from sexual violence were spatialized using the cartographic method and, finally, the places were characterized. perceived as insecure according to the experiences lived by the female sex. The results obtained indicate that five (5) out of every ten (10) women have been victims of sexual violence in the public space of the city of Monteria, likewise, women are afraid of being a victim of sexual violence. in the center of the city, followed by the roads, bus stops and parks; likewise, 9 places were detected where women predominantly reported having experienced incidents of sexual violence, geographically distributed in the center, south and north of the city. from Monteria.
