Operational mode study of an ice slurry generator with induction heating

摘要
The paper presents a new method for ice slurry generation, based on a periodic heating of the ice formation surface by an alternating electromagnetic field from an inductor. In comparison with conventional approaches to ice slurry generation, this method is characterized by a decrease in the temperature head between the coolant boiling and solution crystallization, increased reliability, economic efficiency due to the use of thin-walled heat-exchanging materials, and lower energy consumption. The ice generating capacity, energy consumption, and operating modes of the ice slurry generator prototype with induction heating are provided. The obtained results were compared with the indicators of scraper ice slurry generators.
