摘要
ObjectivesBreast cancer is one of the most commonly known cancers and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. The combination of positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) modalities can significantly increase the information of images related to breast cancer.MethodsIn this systematic review, studies related to the PET/MRI diagnostic method in breast cancer diagnosis were searched in various electronic databases such as ScienceDirect, Web of Science, Scopus PubMed, Embase, and Google Scholar search engine without applying a time limit until the beginning of July 2023 was extracted.ResultsIn the first search in the desired databases, 783 articles were identified and transferred to the information management software (EndNote). Then 336 repeated studies were removed, and among the remaining 447 studies, another 427 studies were excluded from the study process based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Finally, 20 studies were included in the systematic review process. Based on the investigations, it was observed that the diagnostic method of PET/MRI is very efficient in diagnosing breast cancer.ConclusionIn the review of the results of the studies, the high efficiency of the PET/MRI diagnostic method in breast cancer diagnosis was reported. Therefore, it is necessary that health policymakers pay more attention to increase the studies in this field to create as much confidence as possible in this type of diagnostic method. As gaining a more precise understanding of this method can contribute to the development of more effective treatments for breast cancer.
