摘要
In this study, a new circularly polarized (CP) multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) wearable dielectric resonator antenna (WDRA) has been investigated for the first time for wireless body area network (WBAN) applications. Each WDRA has been energized using a unique H-shaped feeding strip. Using the specialized geometry of the feeding strip the higher-order degenerate modes, TE delta 13x and TE1 delta 3p have been excited to achieve circular polarization. A prototype has been fabricated for experimental measurements. A 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) of 11.5% (7.4-8.3 GHz) has been measured with a mutual coupling of less than -22 dB. An impedance matching BW of 26.8% (6.8-8.9 GHz) covering the entire CP passband has been achieved. The proposed MIMO WDRA has been measured both in free space and on-body environments. A stable response has been provided by the antenna against human body lossy effects which makes it suitable for off-body communications in WBAN. A reasonable agreement between simulated and measured results has been observed.
