SIMULATION OF HEAT AND MOISTURE TRANSFER IN WOOD DURING DRYING UNDER CONSTANT AMBIENT CONDITIONS

摘要
A mathematical model that simulates heat and moisture transfer in wood during drying was developed. In this model, the moisture flux was separated into that of the liquid and that of the vapour phase. The moisture content and vapour concentration gradients were taken as the driving forces for the liquid and vapour fluxes, respectively. The simulation results were compared to experimentally measured average moisture content and temperature inside a green piece of wood undergoing desorption in a constant temperature and humidity environment. The simulated profiles of moisture content and temperature at different stages of desorption are also presented.
