摘要
Eight compounds from a total of 23 phenolics present in both species of potato cyst nematodes (PCN) are flavonoids. Three of them - a hydroxyflavone, an aurone and a chalcone - being yellow in colour, are responsible for the coloration of PCN. The aurone (the strongest in colour) which is absent in Globodera pallida and present in G. rostochiensis, is the golden yellow pigment which is responsible for the vernacular name of the '' golden nematode ''.
