摘要
The distribution of nonequivalent aluminum sites was studied in Al-Cu-Fe and Al-Cu-Ru stable icosahedral quasicrystalline phases using Al-27 NQR spectra taken at 4.2 K. The observed spectra-which give directly the distribution of nonequivalent aluminum sites-were broad, asymmetric, and structureless. A simple electric-field-gradient model calculation accounted for the spectral width in terms of a wide distribution of local atomic environments, and an estimate for the lower limit on the number of nonequivalent aluminum sites was found.
