摘要
Ultrasonic speed, isentropic compressibility, dielectric constant, refractive index and viscosity data of binary mixtures of quinoline with benzene, toluene, o-xylene or p-xylene have been experimentally obtained over the whole composition range at 303.15 K and the interactions existing between the components have been discussed. These studies suggest the existence of strong specific interaction between quinoline and aromatic hydrocarbons and more than one competing factors are responsible for the observed excess values of these properties. Molar polarizabilities, apparent polarizabilities, equilibrium constants, apparent dipole moments and Kirkwood correlation parameters for these mixtures have also been evaluated and the results indicate complexation between the molecules of quinoline and aromatic hydrocarbons. Various interaction parameters and excess Gibbs energy of flow have been evaluated from the viscosity data.
