TIPSE - A COST-EFFECTIVE METHOD OF TEACHING SYSTEMS-ANALYSIS AND DESIGN

The TIPSE (teaching integrated project-support environment) project is an approach to incorporating software tools into undergraduate courses in systems analysis and design. At this point in the project, the principle of adapting existing tools to provide guidance to students has been shown to warrant further study. The continual emergence of new software tools requires that the adaptive method has great flexibility, and requires skill in the assessment of proprietary software. The use of the prototype TIPSE in class has pointed to opportunities for future improvements which will be addressed in the next phase of the project. © 1990.
