1991 - NUCLEAR-POWER IN THE POWER INDUSTRY OF THE FEDERAL-REPUBLIC-OF-GERMANY

The Annual Statistical Report compiled by the Power Economy Unit of the German Federal Ministry of Economics contains the overall balance for 1991 of the electricity generating industry. The development of the power industry in Germany (territorial status as after October 3, 1990). like the development of the overall economy, differed greatly in the former area of the Federal Republic (territory up until October 3, 1990) and in the new federal states and (East) Berlin (the territory of the former GDR, called ''new federal states'' below). With a few exceptions, it is now possible for the first time to make use of the statistical preconditions for detailed and comprehensive reporting in the new federal states for 1991. As a result, the development in the power industry for the first time is described for united Germany. Because of the differences in economic development, the still unsynchronized grid operation, and in the interest of statistical continuity, also the development in the two subareas are shown separately.
