摘要
The acquisition of representative subsea fluid samples from offshore field development is crucial for the correct evaluations of oil reserves and for the design of production facilities. Employing a transient multiphase flow simulation program, an integrated virtual sampling model was developed that captured the essential building blocks of the subsea production system. With the virtual sampling model, every single fluid component was accounted for throughout the calculation, enabling simulation of scenarios such as start-up and blow-down with a high level of detail and accuracy. Therefore, the model provides a predictive tool to test and monitor subsea operational conditions for the life of field. The application of the model should reduce the frequency of subsea intervention operations required for the offshore oil and gas industry, with considerable saving on operational expenditures. The present paper explores the derivable benefits of the integrated virtual sampling application to maximise value on deepwater field development.
