Association of gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST) and epithelial tumours of digestive tract is very rare and is usually detected during surgery for gastrointestinal carcinomas. These tumours, which develop from mesenchyme, are considered a good prognosis because of their low potential for malignancy. We report the case of a 70-year-old patient who underwent surgery for colonic adenocarcinoma, with an incidental finding of a small bowel tumour. Histologic findings confirmed the diagnosis of GIST.
