Fifteen copper-resistant mutants of Aspergillus nidulans have been isolated that can grow on higher levels of copper than the wild-type strains. All 15 were found to result from a single gene mutation. From these mutants, two separate loci have been classified, cupA and cupB. Of the 15 mutants, 13 were located in cupA and two in cupB. © 1990 Springer-Verlag New York Inc.
