THERMAL PATTERNS OF FEMALE BREAST

The effect of oral contraceptives on the thermal pattern of the breast was discussed. The subjects breasts were scanned by an infrared scanner and cameras before and during oral contraceptive treatment. It was found in women who use oral contraceptives that the temperature of the breasts increased relative to the infraclavicular temperature. In effect the breasts became warmer. In normal menstruating women the breasts grow warmer from the time of ovulation until the time of the onset of menstruation. Thermal scans of pregnant women show a large increase in vascularity and size of the breasts.
