摘要
Decreased physical activity is a factor of students' morbidity growth. The term "physical activity" refers to the combination of a variety of motor actions performed in everyday life in organized and individual physical exercises and sports. It is important to determine the "optimal" level of motor activity that would compensate energy costs and contribute to further improvement of the individual. According to the latest data, the weekly motor activity for students must be at least 11 hours. Obviously, physical education classes at the university cannot fully compensate for the need to move. The educational standard gives Physical Education 68 hours per semester, which is 4 hours per week, or a third of the "optimal" level of physical activity. Thus, PE classes should not be the only way for students to satisfy their need for movement. The level of motor activity depends both on the educational process and on individual students' attitudes. About 45 % of first-year students were previously involved in sports and 16 % of them have sports categories. Virtually all respondents report a positive attitude to physical training in higher school, and 38 % attend extra classes in sports centers. Almost all of the men and 62 % of women prefer active rest, but, unfortunately, they have little free time. Up to 50 % of the respondents visit the open air for 1.5-2 hours daily; and only 10 % for more than 2 hours (hygiene standard is 2 hours a day), 10 % of the students reported "less than 30 minutes a day". The results of the survey show that about 1/3 of the students of both sexes have weekly physical activity above the minimum level (about 10 hours per week). These data can be correlated with the results obtained by S.M. Futornyy (2013): only 32.39 % of girls and 38.46 % boys have the minimum weekly volume of specially organized motor activity (8-10 hours per week). The level of motor activity undergoes certain changes during the school year. For most of the school year (about 10 months) students have insufficient motor activity (40-60 % deficit). Motor activity during the holidays is at the minimum level or exceeds it. During the semesters and the examination sessions, there is a decrease in motor activity. The program of physical education in higher school is not able to completely eliminate the negative effects of students' hypokinesia because most students spend little time at PE classes. The increase in motor activity during the day, study and recreation should be a vital need able to form the desire for physical perfection and healthy lifestyle in their minds.
