PROFILE DIFFERENTIATION OF SOD-PODZOLIC SOIL IN TERMS OF MOISTURE DYNAMICS

摘要：
A method for simple, objective differentiation of the soil profile in terms of the ''moisture regime'' is described. Data on the moisture dynamics of a Sod-Podzolic soil of Moscow Oblast are analyzed. The reasons for the mismatch between the boundaries of the ''hydrologic'' layers of the soil profile in the test plot and those of the morphogenetic profile as determined from the description of a single specimen are discussed. The boundaries of the morphogenetic horizons of the soil in the experimental plot can be identified more precisely (with correction for their lateral variation) from an analysis of long-term soil moisture measurements.
