摘要:
The fifthy-five year old female patient complained of eritematous plaques on the left and right forearm. The first lesions appeared three years ago near the scar border of the smallpox vaccine scar and gradually extended to 4x1 cm diameter. A biopsy was taken from the plaques showing a granulomatous dermatitis appearance on diascopic examination and settled along the smallpox vaccine scar. It was verified as "granulomatous dermatitis and sarcoidosis compatible". The lung x-ray revealed hiler lymphadenopathy and minimal parenchimal involvement. There was no other systemic involvement observed. The disposition was evaluated as "Grade 2" sarcoidosis. Skin involvement of sarcoidosis is rare but it is known that first lesion can develop on old scar like operation scar. In this case, sarkoidos developed on the smallpox vaccine scar. There are no other findings in the literatures reflecting the relationship of smallpox vaccine scar with sarcoidosis.
