摘要：
This paper describes the concept of the Management Information Service (MIS) that supports the management of globally distributed applications and telecommunication services. It is based on an integrated global information model which combines the features of the X.500 and X.700 series of CCITT recommendations. It provides information handling capabilities for human administrators and management applications required for end-to-end service management of, for example, Virtual Private Networks (VPN) in an Integrated Broadband Communications (EBC) environment.
