摘要
''Machism'' is a cultural construction, a way of thinking about the roles of men and women, with the aim of sharpening the differences between the sexes. In order to study ''machism'' in the social imaginary, a test was applied to 50 adults (35 to 60 years old), and to 60 youngsters (18 to 35 years old). The sample was drawn from the National University of Saint Louis (Argentina). Results indicate that ''machism'' is present in the population studied, in relation to the professions considered ''masculine''; is more important in adults that in young people.
