ONE-DIMENSIONAL CHIRAL XY MODEL FOR THE D(HD) PHASE OF HEXAHEXYLTHIOTRIPHENYLENE

摘要：
We derive a chiral XY model with right chirality on a linear chain as a simple model for the liquid-crystalline D(hd) phase of hexahexylthiotriphenylene. We explain a liquidlike short-range intracolumn order in the D(hd) phase by calculating the distribution function of the difference between angles and the correlation functions for the angles for radicals on different molecules in a column.
