Approximate values of the fundamental frequency coefficients as presented in references (A. C. Heidebrecht, N. J. Taleb and E. W. Suppiger, and C. W. Bert and A. L. Newberry) and also the exact value determined by Taleb and Suppiger are tabulated. By using a straight finite element formulation and subdividing the beam into 10 elements one obtains a numerical value for the natural frequency coefficient which coincides with the exact result.
