摘要：

In this work, it is intended to discuss the canonical character found in the mandatory literary works to be read in most of the entrance exams for higher education institutions in Brazil. This selection is not neutral and involves the maintenance of hegemonic and dominant power groups. Besides that, it will be reflected how the changes in the obligatory reading lists from two of the most important entrance exams (UFRGS and Unicamp) may influence in literature teaching to pre-entrance exams students.
