摘要
The kinetics of Pu(IV) reduction by hydrazine in nitric acid solutions on metallic ruthenium on an inert support are studied spectrophotometrically. Ruthenium accelerates the Pu(IV) reduction. The reaction rate is first order in metal and hydrazine and -1 in nitric acid concentration. The rate constant increases with an increase in the s:l ratio, Ru content on the support, and temperature. The activation energy is 76 kJ/mole. The catalytic activity of ruthenium is less than Pt. However, ruthenium does not decompose hydrazine and reduces gas evolution.
