摘要
The close correlation between some “instability” characteristics of magnetic recording oxides (such as Print-Through and temperature dependence of coercivity) and the Volume of the Switching Unit (VSU) is confirmed in this article. It is also found that the VSU correlates very closely to the Transverse Field Magnetic Stability (TFMS) in Cobalt Modified iron oxides. It is shown, however, that the correlation between the VSU and the actual particle volume may be modified by particular treatments of the particles so that very small particles can be made yet having relatively large values of the VSU. Such findings seem to confirm the “granular” nature of γ-Fe203 particles. © 1990 IEEE
