摘要
Introduction: The cases of Bartonella henselae in children with regional adenitis and its co-infection with the Epstein Barr Virus; systemic presentation, which may include prolonged fever, constitutional symptoms, its incidence is still uncertain with bone, muscle, hepatosplenic compromise, among other manifestations. Case description: a cross-sectional study was conducted in an 8-year-old boy with regional adenitis greater than 1 cm in diameter, of acute onset, with a disease time of more than 2 weeks, attended at the national hospital Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo during the year 2016 We defined seropositivity for B. henselae by means of the Immunoglobulin IgM / ELISA test, in the study the majority of differential diagnoses were made, allowing to elucidate and also finding the coinfection with EBV (Epstein Barr virus) who presents prolonged fever and adenopathies generating at the beginning a probable diagnosis without clinical improvement, in the epidemiological analysis the importance of contact with the carrier (cat) who was in this case extra-domiciliary. Conclusion: children with regional adenitis treated in this National Hospital always have to have a differential diagnosis and associated with a consistent epidemiological data, receiving adequate treatment with good clinical response.
