摘要
The magnetic properties of iron-rich nitride Fe8N were studied by means of the augmented spherical wave (ASW) method. Within the tetragonal cell, the distribution of iron atoms into three sublattices due to nitrogen leads to different moments with a resulting increase and decrease of local moments with respect to b.c.c. and b.c.t. Fe. The results are discussed on the basis of nearest neighbor interactions and compared with experimental studies.
