摘要
Magnesium and its alloys play a very important role in the modern industry. Due to very low specific density, lowest of all structure metals, its role will also grow in the future. The most serious problem with the wide application of magnesium and its alloys in the technique is their strong susceptibility to corrosion. Many important scientific papers, presenting new information on the mechanism of the corrosion of magnesium and its alloys appeared in the literature during last few years. This article gives the review of the newest papers with the special attention to the electrochemical phenomena occurring during corrosion of magnesium and its alloys as well as electrochemical methods of the investigation of the corrosion of these materials.
