It is known that the inequality among regions within nation-states after industrial revolution is has increased and the population is intensified in the more industrialized regions. This situation was a phase particularly experienced by early industrialized societies. The statistics indicate that beginning of the last century, about 80% of entire European population was affected from the phenomenon and ultimately displaced which correspond to a large scale migration (Miles 1993: 7). Despite the fact that migration could simply be defined as a displacement, political, social, economic, and cultural factors are affecting it. Migrations that are triggered by various factors have resulted problematic areas which are subjects of many disciplines such as economics. In recent years, there has been a migration toward industrialized provinces of the Western Turkey, chiefly Istanbul due to the regional income differences. The present study aims to determine the underlined factors for the immigration from TRA2 Region of Turkey (Agri, Kars, Igdir, and Ardahan provinces) to Istanbul and its consequences and to determine the indicators or reverse migration in an applied fashion.
