ROLE OF SOLAR-RADIATION AND BOUNDARY-CONDITIONS IN MODELING THE MIXED-LAYER OF THE OCEAN

摘要
In the framework of the one-dimensional differential parametric model of the oceanic mixed layer the sensitivity of the model solution to the various parameterizations of solar radiation absorption function is investigated. The comparison of model results with observational data collected at ocean weather station ''C'' showed that the type of parameterization was significant in case of heating and weak wind strees. For other conditions, the type of parameterization was not important. It is demonstrated that the model describes satisfctory the evolution of ocean mixed layer. The errors of model simulation can be explained by effects of non-stationary advection and by inaccuracy of the surface heat flux obtained from bulk formulae.
