摘要
A set of model equations, which describe the time development of the amplitudes of Fourier modes, are proposed to clarify the mechanism of the pattern formation in Rayleigh-Benard convection with free-rigid boundaries. It is shown that a hexagonal cellular pattern and two-dimensional rolls are steady solutions of the set of model equations. The bifurcation diagram of these solutions is obtained together with their stabilities. Results of numerical simulations for the set of model equations illustrate the mechanism of the pattern formation.
