摘要
Iterative CGH design algorithms such as simulated annealing allow high performance non-separable diffractive elements to be designed. Previously it has been necessary to choose the number of hologram pixels required for any particular design by empirical means. By considering the number of degrees of freedom required for hologram design a simple relationship is found between the reconstruction error and the number of pixels. This is investigated experimentally and is found to be correct for binary holograms.
