Results of investigations of ion-molecule equilibria in RbI, AgI, and RbAg4I5 vapors are presented Enthalpies of formation of the ions (kJ/mole) are presented: 195 +/- 4 (Rb+ . RbI), -471 +/- 7 (I- .RbI), -68 +/- 8 (Rb+ .2RbI), 963 +/- 9 (Ag+ .AgI), -2.57 +/- 9 (I- .AgI), 200 +/- 25 (Rb+ .AgI .RbI), 539 +/- 10 (Rb+ .AgI), 669 +/- 10 (Ag+ .RbI), 926 +/- 20 (Ag+ .2AgI), and 330 +/- 25 (Ag+ -2RbI). It is shown that Ag+ ions, which are found to exist in the experiment, are nonequilibrium entities. The problems related to the lack of equilibrium nature of Ag+ ions are discussed.
